Be clear with your agent about your needs, and the home qualities that are important to you. You should also be specific about your realistic price range and the locations that interest you. If your criteria change, keep your agent informed. Your agent will be able to watch for properties that have not yet appeared on the MLS, or listings that may have expired.
If you simply can’t find the perfect home, and need to make a move, choose a home that is well built, and one that has good resale value. Then when the market calms down, you will be able to take time to look for that perfect home.
