St George Temple

Other theological underpinnings include that this earth life is given St George Temple - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsimportance for testing according to the light received and in following conscience toward becoming in very deed like ones Heavenly Father.

Mormons believe that being created in the image of God is not a loose phrase and that this life is one more step toward that end, part of which includes the obtaining of a body. As such it is also viewed as a temple. Temples therefore are joining the temporal or earthy with the heavenly to bring us in preparation to that place and in providing for all of God's work to accord and witness together to include the crowning opportunity granted in ordinances such as baptism made requeset as part of Christs doctrinal decree, whereby all must enter this gate in order to be saved (John 3:5). The pinnacle of these crowning opportunities is the opportunity to enter into the New and Everlasting Covenant of marriage. As such, couples marry "for time and all eternity", not till death do us part.

Still, ordinances alone do not save. Members are expected to live the Golden Rule and walk up to and strive to keep all of Gods commandments. As such these more formal service opportunities are provided in this grand work also, whether it be for [to help secure the work of] the dead for ancestors and for any and all of the human race, whom ultimately are all brothers and sisters anyway. Geneology has a significant place as part of this great work for connecting generations together into 'family lines'. The family is given preeminence as the basic unit of society. Because they believe that eventual life with God is within 'welding links (verses 36-39)' that are available to all, this will then help form the basis for the afterlife to be in family units. This is why genealogy is so researched and that family lines (ancestory lineage) have become even more widely held and available to even people who are not members, to find out about their own ancestors.
