Apple Valley Homes for Sale

The population of Apple Valley is small at about 731 in 2017. It is located on Highway 59 in a small valley on the Little Plains between Hurricane and Hilldale Utah about 12 miles East of Hurricane. The drive is a 2,000 ft climb to 4,700 ft. The scenery is of Zion National Park in the background and Mount Smithsonian, Canaan Mountain and Little Creek Mesa surrounding the area. The temperature is about 10 degrees cooler than Hurricane and St George year round.

 Apple Valley

Apple Valley, Utah, is one of the most recent towns to incorporate in Washington County. It was incorporated on October 14, 2004.  The population estimate by the Utah Population Estimates Committee for 2005 is 617. Apple Valley is positioned 40.37 degrees north of the equator and 111:46 degrees west of the prime meridian.

The town is served by several water companies by pumping water from wells daily to large tanks. Heating for homes is either propane or electricity. Satellite TV is available in the area.  Roof top reception is only available on top of the Mesa and with a very tall antenna.  Phone service is provided by South Central and calls to Colorado City, Arizona are local while calls to Hurricane are long distance. But most residents do business in Hurricane or St. George.

Apple Valley has a Chevron gas station and a fire department. Schwan's and UPS are the only business in town. Library service is provided by a traveling"bookmobile" that comes from Iron County periodically.

This area began in 1985 as a subdivision. There are about 200 homes with a growth rate of about 10 homes per year. All lots are zoned for animals and at least one acre in size.
