Gunlock Homes for Sale
Gunlock is a beautiful small town and residential area. The town is located right by the beutiful Gunlock State Park so the real estate in the area takes advantage of thespectacular Utah beauty. Gunlock is a blip along the road located in the county of Washington, just west of Ivins & the St George area. It is home to several small houses along a reservoir that gave the town its fame. Some rustic beauty affords some potential for real estate development.
The citizens of Gunlock founded a company in 1913 named “People’s Progressive Telephone & Telegraph Company” which gave Gunlock and its neighboring towns of Enterprise, Pine Valley, and Santa Clara connection to the rest of the country until later the Mountain Bell Company took it over from them.The town hosts an Annual Gunlock Rodeo around the 4th of July to raise funds for community facilities. This has been a town tradition since 1945.
Gunlock began oiling in the town in 1960 and the town has stayed a small town community mostly dotted by a few housed only.
