Sunriver has its own new construction department to include some model homes to look at normally. These homes are quite nice! However, the resale market is a rather large market with many available homes to choose from as well. So normally, the average consumer will take a look at the resale market and often be enticed there. Except a lot of this has changed with the advent of the modern finishes. Still, I've helped many clients buy a resale home to then use the savings to update it themselves.
The important thing to note is that Sunriver new construction department will never quote you a higher price when your Realtor® is involved and representing you on new construction there. Therefore, you can safely have your agent show you all the resale market AND include them at the Sunriver new construction office. You are also more likely to "keep them honest on pricing" when you have an agent and they therefore know you have been looking at resales. They want your business. If you do not let Sunriver know up front, then will be undercutting your ability to have them get paid for all their efforts, should you buy new instead of in the resale market.
